We asked Ipswich Star readers what brands they would like to see come to Ipswich - and we have a selection of them here.

IKEA was the brand most of our readers said they wanted to come to Ipswich.

Talk of the Scandinavian furnishing retail giant coming to Ipswich has circulated for decades.

Now demand is higher than ever for IKEA to come to Ipswich.

Last year IKEA launched three mobile pick-up points across Suffolk, including in Lowestoft, Sudbury and Saxham Business Park.

H&M

H&M came in second place as our readers' most in-demand brand to come to town.

A H&M store previously served customers for more than 15 years in Tavern Street, before being shut on November 27, 2022.

Flannels

Just after H&M moved out, rumours were raised that Flannels, a luxury clothing store, would take over the space but the future of the property is still unknown.

Flannels was also mentioned by many of our readers as a retail store they would love to see in Ipswich.

The Premier League big boys

Another reader wittily told us that he hoped football clubs like Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool would come to Ipswich to set up stores as Ipswich Town fight for promotion into the Premier League.

Honourable mentions

Other popular choices suggested by our readers included Zara, John Lewis, Bershka, Vans, Costco and Poundland - which saw its Carr Street store close some time back.
