Backing the Blues has gone into overdrive with businesses and organisations across the town changing their logo ahead of Town's game tomorrow.

Excitement has been building all week as the Blues could secure automatic promotion against Huddersfield Town on Saturday, May 4, with only one point needed.

To support the club many local businesses have started decorating their windows or changing their logos to include the team's crest and its colours. 

Among them are Suffolk New College and Suffolk One Sixth Form College.

Suffolk New College has been working closely with the football club for their Ipswich Town Foundation and recently returned from a charity mission to Ghana with former town player Simon Milton. 

A spokesperson for them said: "We have turned our logo blue and white ahead of one of the biggest games in the club's history.

"It would be such a massive achievement to gain promotion - so it's a big 'Up the Town' from us all at the college. We are backing them all the way."

Deputy head of centre at One Sixth Form College Andrew Adamson said: "No matter what the result, the Tractor Boys have been an inspiration this season and given so many people at One Sixth Form College and across the county a real sense of pride and joy.

"Come on you Blues."

Ipswich's Geek Retreat has redecorated its premise with the help of their customers with buntings before the game. 

They said: "What a way to bring our town together! We love Ipswich and a little positivity and togetherness goes a long way!"

Suffolk Chamber of Commerce had already been using a bespoke logo to commemorate its 140th anniversary this year but they felt that the achievements of the club needed to be celebrated. 

Head of public affairs Paul Simon said: "Ipswich Town’s achievements this season have been so impressive and so thrilling that, ahead of the Huddersfield game, we wanted to acknowledge our ongoing support for them by switching over to a Club-themed version for a few days."

Friel Marketing's managing director Clare Yelland-Friel believes that the club's success would only positively impact the town. 

She added: "I remember in the early 2000s when Ipswich were promoted to the premier league, the atmosphere in town was electric.  I was only 16 but it is one of my core memories.

"The Friel team will be heading out on Saturday to support the Tractor Boys and hopefully relive our last promotion."

Meanwhile, Prominent PR, said that a promotion would be huge for businesses, adding that it is great to see so many uniting on this cause. 

A spokesman said: "We are a proudly Suffolk-based business and are backing the Blues for glory this weekend.
