Anyone with a certain Logik tumble dryer is being asked to unplug their machine until it has been declared safe.

The brand’s LVD7W15 model has been discovered to have a heating element which may overheat in a “small batch” of the dryers, according to a post on the Suffolk Trading Standards website.

The fault affects machines manufactured between March and April 2016. Overheating of the element could start a fire.

Customers who have bought this particular appliance from Curry’s are being contacted directly to give them advise, and will exchange the faulty part free of charge where affected products are found.

However until the product is confirmed to be not at risk owners are being advised to stop using the tumble dryers, switch them off and unplug them at the mains.

If you believe you have a faulty machine with this issue you are advised to call 0344 561 6202 between 9am and 8pm Monday to Friday, 9am and 6pm on Saturdays and 10am and 5pm on Sundays.
