Six Ipswich drug dealers have been given prison sentences totalling 19 years following a police operation targeting the supply of heroin in the town.

The men were among nine defendants to appear at Ipswich Crown Court today accused of being involved in the supply of the drug at a number of locations in the town including the skate park near Cardinal Park and Christchurch Park.

Before the court were:

• Daniel Horner, 34, of no fixed address, who pleaded guilty to supplying two wraps of heroin to an undercover police officer on August 24 and was jailed for five years and eight months.

• Michael Beasley, 33, of no fixed address, who admitted being concerned in the supply of heroin over the course of a week in August. Beasley was jailed for three years. The court heard Beasley had been involved in the supply of heroin to an undercover police officer in Grimwade Street, the skate park at Cardinal Park, Bell Close and near the town’s library.

• Mark McCullum, 53, of Berners Street, Ipswich, who admitted two offences of supplying heroin in June and was jailed for three years

• John Moir, 50, of no fixed address, who admitted two offences of supplying heroin and was jailed for three years.

• Luke Townsend, 21, of Grebe Close, Ipswich, who admitted one offence of supplying heroin between July 1-31 and was jailed for three years.

• Francis Snell, 29, of Jasmine Close, Ipswich, who admitted being concerned in the supply of heroin in August and was jailed for 16 months.

• Daniel Davidson, 31, of Dumfries Road, Ipswich, who admitted supplying heroin to an undercover police officer on July 25 and was given a 20-month jail sentence suspended for two years and ordered to do 300 hours unpaid work.

• Lee Brame, 43, of Parnell Road, Ipswich, who admitted supplying class A drugs on August 2. Brame’s case was adjourned until November 27 for a hearing to determine the basis on which he will be sentenced.

• Connie Mayo, 25, of Hill Rise, Stowmarket, who admitted being concerned in the supply of heroin between August 7 and August 21. She will be sentenced on November 27 after a pre-sentence has been prepared.
