Wednesday’s poor weather has given Ipswich Borough Council staff the opportunity to carry out maintenance work at Bourne Park paddling pool after it was heavily used during the glorious bank holiday weekend.
It is having another clean – and the borough council took advantage of a dull and wet day to get the work done.
The pool has been extremely busy during the recent hot weather – especially over the scorching Bank Holiday weekend – and parks staff want to ensure it stays in tip-top condition with the possibility of an Indian Summer in September already on the minds of some weather forecasters.
A council spokesman did not expect many people would be heading there in the rain and said: “We apologise for any inconvenience Wednesday’s closure causes but we hope to reopen it Thursday lunchtime. The sun is due to shine again towards the end of the week and then visitors can enjoy a clean pool.”
