Trinity Park bosses have teamed up with international events company Big Fish Little Fish (BFLF) to put on a disco with a difference on Sunday, June 10.

Designed for children up to eight years old, the family rave has a ‘Summer of Love’ theme with optional – but encouraged – fancy dress.

Confetti cannons and a face painting stall will add a splash of colour to proceedings, while bubbles and a giant parachute dance also feature in a line-up of activities.

Older siblings and parents are also welcome.

“It’s something a little different and we’re delighted to finally bring it to Suffolk,” said David Davies, BFLF regional officer for the East of England. “When I came down to visit Trinity Park I just thought it was the perfect place. “Because we have a theme of summer of love, we want as many people as possible to dress up and have fun because that’s what it’s all about, bringing the community together.

“We’re lucky enough to have the very talented DJ Trax who will be playing old school dance music.

He added: “If this is as successful as we hope, and tickets are already selling well at the moment, we will look at bringing it back again next year.

“We’ve organised a lot of raves and events around the world including in Sydney in Australia and at Glastonbury and I think it’s something like 150,000 people have enjoyed them since we launched.”

Themed crafts, a giant mural and fully licensed bar for adults will also be offered throughout the afternoon, from 2pm to 4.30pm.

Music for each rave is monitored and played at a safe level for younger ears, organisers said.

Noise levels are set lower than at normal nightclubs, but parents with children who are particularly sensitive to loud music are being asked to consider bringing ear defenders.

Bosses added that the Trinity Park event is due to be conducted indoors – and will include club lighting, without strobes.
