Anyone travelling towards Suffolk on the A12 in Essex faced long delays this evening following a collision near Colchester.

The crash happened just after 4pm on the northbound carriageway, between junction 27 for Colchester and 29 for Ardleigh.

The East of England Ambulance Service was called to the scene.
