The A12 in Essex has reopened after a 10 hour closure caused by a lorry crashing into a bridge.

The accident happened at about 8pm last night when a blue lorry travelling in the northbound carriageway struck the bridge at junction 21 near Witham.

The driver suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics.

Essex Police said the road was closed until about 6am, while debris was cleared from the road.
