Firefighters from across West Suffolk were called to a large blaze near the Fiveways Roundabout at Barton Mills on Sunday evening.

An appliance from Mildenhall, one from Bury St Edmunds and one from Brandon were mobilised to the incident after the fire service received a large number of calls reporting a fire in a building just past the Fiveways Roundabout shortly after 6.30pm.

Crews were in attendance within minutes to find a single storey building well alight and got to work using two hose reel jets.

At 7.30pm crews identified separate smouldering seats of fire in neighbouring properties and further fire appliances from Bury St Edmunds and Ixworth were sent to the scene.
