The woman, who is believed to be in her 50s, died after the fire at her home in Ellough Road.

The fire, police and ambulance services were all called to the scene shortly after 12.30pm.

The air ambulance was also called to the scene and landed on Beccles Middle School playing field.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the woman was pulled unconscious from the house.

She said paramedics worked “extremely hard” with the East Anglian Air Ambulance to try and save her life but she was declared dead at the scene after suffering a suspected cardiac arrest.
