Nicki Jacobs and Maria Appleby have established a pop-up camp site in Bildeston for the summer holidays. They hope that by charging visitors £10 per pitch, they will collect enough cash to mend the boiler and upgrade the plumbing in the village pavilion in Consent Lane. Nicki, who is secretary of the sports field committee and runs The Little Event Company with Maria, said: “We want to replace the oil heating system in the pavilion and put in electric showers so we needed to come up with a novel fundraising idea.”

There are 15 pitches on the site and campers can even rent a 1970s retro tent for the night. Call Nicki on 07900 164566 for details.
