Brantham: Phoney gardener cons woman out of cash after saying he’d come to work

Police are appealing for information after an elderly woman was tricked into handing over money in Brantham.

The incident happened in Church Lane at approximately 10am on June 13.

A man approached an elderly woman at the front of her property, explaining he had come to do gardening at her property.

The man entered the property, took money from the victim and left without carrying out any work.

The man is described as white, middle aged, of a larger build, had brown coloured hair and was described as being well dressed.

Anyone with information relating to this crime should contact Pc Glen Boreham from Hadleigh on 101.

  • Maybe not taken in Brantham but at least it is of Suffolk police officers rather than an old photograph of Norfolk officers Archant kept publishing.
