A lorry has been recovered after crashing in Burstall near Hintlesham.

The articulated vehicle left the road at about 1.30pm and ended up in a private garden.

Around 50m of fencing at the property near the junction of the A1071 and Church Hill was damaged with more than 25m turned to matchwood.

There are deep grooves in the verge where the lorry left the road. It had to be removed by two recovery trucks, one of which used a roof-mounted crane to stop the vehicle tipping onto its side.

Police closed a short section of the road but it has now reopened.
