Bury St Edmunds: Eastbound carriageway of A14 closed after crash sees cows escape from trailer

Cows have escaped from a trailer on the A14 after a collision.

The eastbound carriageway is closed between J42, the Westley Interchange, and J43, the Bury Central Interchange, following the accident.

Police were called to the scene around 8.54am to the scene near the sugar beet factory, one of the vehicles was a Landrover Discovery.

The trailer was carrying three cows which got loose however they have remained by a hedge at the side of the road.

Police are currently trying to clear the scene.

  • They will need to get traffic moo-ving along here again asap before the udder routes become congested.
