A 17-YEAR-OLD has been bitten by a dog while he was walking along Hospital Road, in the town.

He was attacked at around 1.30pm on Saturday and police are now appealing for anyone who may have seen the incident to contact them.

The tan coloured medium sized dog was walking on a lead with its owner who was a white woman, around 5ft 11ins tall, aged approximately 40-50 years old, with auburn/reddish brown shoulder length hair.

As the teenager passed the dog and woman the dog jumped up and bit him just above the hip causing a puncture wound and drawing blood.

The boy was left shocked by the incident but carried on walking and then reported the incident to police.
