A man has been arrested after a cannabis factory was discovered by police in Ipswich at the weekend.

Officers uncovered a “quantity of cannabis plants” and cultivating equipment after carrying out a warrant at an address in Vernon Street in the town on Saturday.

Following the discovery, a 48-year-old man from Ipswich was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis.

The man is currently in custody at the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre where he is set to be questioned by detectives.
