A woman was left with minor injuries after the car she was driving overturned in Ipswich this morning.

It happened in Humber Doucy Lane at around 8.35am, a police spokesman said.

The car had gone up a grass verge before flipping over.

The only person in the vehicle, a woman in her 20s, was uninjured and not taken to hospital, but was checked over by paramedics.

The road was partially blocked while the vehicle was recovered.

  • Well most people who use this road do not encounter major problems such as this one.

  • There is a 30mph limit on this road along its entire length from Tuddenham Road, south to Playford Road, yet so many obstacles such as parked cars on the western (paved) section as well as speed bumps in the southern part that achieving 30mph is almost impossible. It must have been a shock and pleased to learn that the female driver was not injured. However I would seriously question how the driver of this car managed to do turn her car over 180degrees turn along a narrow lane in broad daylight with a 30 mph speed restriction!

  • Sorry RC I don't totally agree , yes some roads in and about Ipswich can do with double yellow lines but this road has already seen one end of it with humps etc , this is a narrow road that was not designed to take such heavy traffic flow and the reason cars park up on the path are because they continually loose their wings mirrors etc...The north rat run affects Westerfield , Humber doucy lane , rushmere village , etc.. it needs a proper alternative before the new houses go up.

  • So the cars parked on the path all made a collective boo sound , scaring the the only vehicle into jumping in the air and turning over onto its roof, nothing to do with speed then....

  • The problem with this road is that cars are ALWAYS parked on the path even though all the houses have driveways. There should be no parking on the path road on Humber-Doucey Lane.

  • Headline should be Rat run blocked .. its become a nightmare road , whilst gummer continues his vanity quest of the WDC , roads like this are now somewhat impassable. .And to think they are about to stick thousands of homes on this road shortly ..
