Police were called at about 11.35am to Severalls Lane, at the junction with Wyncolls Lane, after a Ford Transit truck was in a collision with a Land Rover Freelander.

That crash then caused the Freelander to collide with a single-decker bus. An air ambulance was also called as police closed the road.

A police spokeswoman said the female driver of the bus had suffered “minor injuries” including whiplash.

She is being taken to hospital via land ambulance as a precaution, the spokeswoman added.

An ambulance spokesman said: “We were called at 11.40am with response car, ambulance, paramedic officer and the Herts Air Ambulance attending.

“Two people were assessed at the scene and a woman in her 50s suffered minor injuries and was taken to Basildon Hospital as a precaution.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
