MORE than 200 people attended a funeral service for a teenager who died after being hit by a car in Colchester.

Friends look at the floral tributes to Cassie McCord at the spot on Head Street in the centre of Colchester where she was hit by a car.

Cassie McCord, 16, of Drury Road, died in a crash which happened in Head Street on February 7.

A celebration of Cassie’s life is took place at Colchester Crematorium this afternoon.

Cassie’s family has said they found some comfort in the fact that she helped to save the lives of others by her wish to be an organ donor.

The student, who was studying at Colchester Sixth Form College, suffered a serious head injury when a driver fell ill at the wheel and crashed into H&M clothes store.
