Colchester: Witnesses to crash on Berechurch Hall Road in which 12-year-old girl sustained serious injuries asked to come forward

Witnesses to a car crash in Colchester are being asked to contact police.

The incident happened on Berechurch Hall Road near the junction of William Harris Way in Colchester around 10.35pm yesterday.

A Ford Focus being driven by a 27-year-old man and a Chrysler Voyager containing a family of five were involved in the collision.

The driver of the Ford received minor injuries but a 12 year old girl in the rear seat of the Chrysler received serious neck injuries and was taken with her family to hospital, who were treated for minor injuries.

The 12-year-old girl was later transferred to Addenbrooke’s Hospital where her condition is described as stable.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading up to the collision and any witnesses are asked to contact Pc Steve Licence at Stanway on 101.
