A furniture company in Ipswich is search for an experienced cabinet maker to join its team.

Titchmarsh and Goodwin, which has been making bespoke items in Ipswich since 1920, is searching for someone who can specialise in mahogany and walnut veneer work as well as solid oak.

Angela Linforth from Titchmarsh and Goodwin said the position had become available because of someone retiring, having worked for the company since the age of 16, as well as the need for extra staff.

She said: “We hand-make all of our pieces from scratch and sell our furniture all over the world both directly to consumers and through interior designers. It really is beautiful furniture.

“We’re looking for someone with a real can-do attitude, who’s great as part of a team, very careful and precise.

“We want someone who really takes pride in their work and wants to achieve absolutely the best quality furniture.

“Ideally we really want somebody who is an experienced cabinet-maker, but attitude and a real hunger to learn are equally important.”

Ms Linforth added: “Our cabinet-makers say that it’s a great business to work for because there is a huge variety in the work that we produce and they are still learning new skills and improving all the time, which they find very motivating.

“A lot of our cabinet makers have been here a long time.”
