A male cyclist suffered a serious leg injury after being involved in a collision with a car in Ipswich.

The incident happened just before 9pm on Bishops Hill, police said.

The man was in his 30s.

The road was closed in both directions.

An East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust spokeswoman said: “An ambulance, the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), the East Anglian air ambulance and medical car, two ambulance officers and a rapid response vehicle attended.

“Crews treated a man in his 30s with a serious leg injury.

“He was taken to Ipswich Hospital by land ambulance for further care.”
