A man has been taken to hospital after he was clipped by a train between Ipswich and Westerfield.

Police were called at 9.20pm to reports of a man near the tracks at Bramford Lane, and Suffolk Fire and Rescue and the East of England Ambulance Service also attended.

A police spokeswoman said the man ran onto the line and was clipped by a train but his injuries are not believed to be serious.

He was then taken to Ipswich Hospital.

The incident caused disruption to train services and all lines were blocked while the incident was dealt with by emergency services and British Transport Police.
