POLICE in Colchester are searching for a man wanted on suspicion of rape against an 18-year-old woman on Thursday evening.

The woman met the man at Missoula in Colchester and returned to a friend’s house in Great Horkesley, where he allegedly assaulted her.

She was taken to hospital before being supported and questioned by specially trained officers.

The man said that he was in the army and came from Southend.

He is described as white, in his 20s, with brown hair, 5ft 8ins tall, wearing a white T-shirt, beige jumper and jeans.

Police are asking the man, or anyone else with information, to contact detectives at the Sexual Offences Investigation team, North, on 101.
