POP star Peter Andre has pulled out of his current UK tour, including a planned gig in Clacton next Saturday, due to the deteriorating health of his brother Andrew, it has been announced.

But the singer says he will not be letting down his fans in the town - and has arranged to bring his “Up Close and Personal” show to The Venue in Clacton on Saturday January 26.

The company which runs The Venue says that ticket-holders can choose to opt for the new date, or to obtain a full refund by contacting the box office in person or by calling 0845 815 9709.

A statement from Peter Andre’s management company said that it was with great regret that Peter would be postponing his remaining tour dates.

The statement continued: “His brother Andrew’s health has taken a turn for the worse, and Peter has made the decision to be with him and his family at this time.”

Entertainments manager at The Venue, John Flack, said everyone at the centre had been greatly saddened by the news about Peter’s brother.

“This is clearly a very difficult time for him, and we are grateful to Peter for taking the first opportunity to share his news with us and his fans in Clacton. I am sure that all our ticket holders will understand completely his decision, and join with us in wishing him the very best at this troubling time in his life.”

  • My advice to victims of the Peter André PR machine... sorry 'fans', would be to get your money back while the going's good.

Ipswich Basketball head coach Nick Drane has criticised the decision to deny the sport any funding for the Tokyo Olympics, saying it feels like “no-one cares”.

The RSPCA are appealing for animal lovers to come forward and adopt some of the cute creatures they are looking to rehome.

Detectives investigating a double murder in Ipswich have until tomorrow morning to question a teenage boy in connection with the incident.

Strong leadership, major improvements to teaching and creating a “happy and caring” environment are key reasons why an Ipswich primary school has been rated ‘good’ by Ofsted.

Commuters heading to London are used to full trains on the morning and evening peaks – and having to pay a full fare for travelling on them.

Two significant new developments are likely to get the go-ahead from Ipswich Borough Council’s planning committee next week.

The A120 could join the A12 at Rivenhall or Kelvedon instead of Marks Tey as potential routes for the new dualled road are revealed.

A woman in her 70s has died after a two-car crash on the B1106 in Elveden, near Thetford this afternoon.
