The family of a 77-year-old woman who died in a car crash in Great Finborough on Tuesday have paid tribute to her.

Jeanette Harrison from Clay Hills, Pebmarsh, in Essex, died after being involved in a two-car crash on the B1115 near Great Finborough.

Mrs Harrison, who was known as Jean, had been a passenger in a Vauxhall Corsa when it was involved in a collision with a Range Rover at 2.40pm.

Paying tribute to her, a family statement said: “We are all completely devastated and shocked at the sudden tragic loss of Jean.

“She was the most wonderful wife, mum, nan, great nanny and a very dear friend to so many.

“She was the kind of person you could never forget once you had met her, so beautiful – both inside and out, so happy, always making people smile and laugh.

“Our Jean was the kindest, warmest, most caring and generous person.

“She adored children and was absolutely devoted to her three grandchildren and two great granddaughters, who loved her dearly.

“We have been overwhelmed with the support and wonderful words received from family and many of her friends – a testament to how much she was loved by everybody.

“She will be very sadly missed by all who knew her.

“We would like to express our sincere thanks to the police, paramedics, firefighters, air ambulance and doctors and staff at West Suffolk Hospital; they have all been so wonderful at what is such a difficult time for us.”

Two men in their 70s, drivers of the vehicles involved, were taken to West Suffolk Hospital following the crash.

The Astra driver suffered a fractured sternum and the driver of the Range Rover sustained minor injuries.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the crash to contact police on 101, quoting CAD 247 of January 26.
