“Fast”Eddie due to appear in US court

FORMER Securicor guard “Fast” Eddie Maher is due to appear before the US District Court for the Western District of Missouri today.
The 56-year-old, who is wanted in England in connection with the theft of £1m from outside of Lloyds Bank in Hamilton Road, Felixstowe, in January 1993, has been in custody in the US for two weeks.
Today’s proceedings, which are due to take place at 3.30pm UK time, are a preliminary and detention hearing.
Maher was arrested at his home in Ozark, Missouri, on February 8. He has been charged with illegally possessing firearms. He is also suspected of being an illegal immigrant and possessing illegal documents.
