TWO drink-drivers are waiting to discover their fate after pleading guilty to driving while over the limit.

Sandra Bultitude, of Westleton Way, Felixstowe, appeared at South East Suffolk Magistrates’ Court yesterday where she admitted one count of drink driving having been caught almost three times the legal limit.

The court heard Bultitude had been seen “driving erratically” by police as she drove her Vauxhall Zafira along the Old A45 at Levington on December 9.

The 47-year-old, who represented herself during the hearing, told the court she “stupidly” drove while drunk after her 17-year-old son missed his bus home.

She said she had been drinking with friends prior to the incident.

“My son phoned me to say he had missed his bus,” she said. “He had been working and I stupidly got in the car and went to get him. It was stupid.”

When police stopped Bultitude she was found to have 102 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs.

District Judge Celia Dawson adjourned the case until Thursday for a pre-sentence report. She also handed Bultitude an interim driving ban and warned her that driving any vehicle would result in a more severe punishment.

In a separate case, Bernard Middleton, of Park Lane, Kirton, was caught almost four times the drink-drive limit when police spotted him driving on the A14 westbound carriageway at Trimley on December 9.

He pleaded guilty to drink driving during his appearance at magistrates court yesterday.

The court heard the 57-year-old had 130 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when the legal limit is 35.

Michael Stephenson, for Middleton, said: “He [Middleton] said to police that he was drunk and an idiot. I don’t think anyone would disagree with that.”

His case was adjourned until 10am on January 11 for a pre-sentence report.

District Judge Dawson also handed Middleton an interim driving ban.
