A blaze which engulfed a lorry trailer on the A14 was tackled by firefighters today.

Three fire crews were called to the incident on the dual carriageway eastbound between Trimley St Mary and Felixstowe, around 200 metres from the Dock Spur roundabout, at around 7.15am.

The flames had been extinguished by 8.05am, a Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said.

  • Same here. Even had one lorry do a hard, unsignalled last moment tight left turn over the hashed bit of the westbound sliproad going up to Trimley. Thought he was going to end up on the grass embankment. Threw up all kinds of dust and dirt.

  • No fire between the Trimley junction and dock spur at 0750 when I went through, just a broken down lorry on the inside lane.
