PROPOSAL for a Tesco superstore and hundreds of new homes will not be lodged with councillors until the new year.

The Walton Green Partnership had intended to submit its planning applications for two sites either side of Walton High Street, Felixstowe, this month.

Roy Gray, of the Walton Felixstowe Community First action group, said members had been told by the partnership – Tesco and landowners Trinity College, Cambridge – that the application would not now come forward until mid-January at the earliest.

“We understand they had intended to submit before Christmas but there has been a further delay,” he said.

  • The walton green site would be more ideal situated for a superstore then the one planned next to the railway station with traffic going to be hectic. At least the Tesco store site has entrance to the A14. just get on with the permission and get on with the build let this go a head with what felixstowe needs. Come and join the facebook page say YES to Tesco in Felixstowe

  • I think at last I finally agree with you Antony, the one at the railway siding will be determined first though and might get the go ahead if was to be scaled down greatly, and I'm sure that would then scupper the Walton Green plans as I cant see them letting both get the go ahead, so you really need to get your group to lobby our councillors who are set to make the decisons and let them know in no uncertain terms what your group wants.
