BOSSES at a Felixstowe-based charity have been left devastated after thieves pinched a laptop which contained recordings of their fund-raising concerts.

Waiting for Christmas, a project run by Christians in Felixstowe, is aiming to raise £50,000 for Tearfund’s work with the poorest people on the planet.

They have run several concerts in Felixstowe with school children and had been hosting shows at the Apex, in Bury St Edmunds, when the theft took place sometime between December 11-12.

The project leader, Andy Rayner, of Christ Church, Felixstowe, said: “It has got recordings of lots of our concerts and it is the only copy we have got. It has got quite a lot of value in terms of content.

“It just leaves a bit of a sour taste in the mouth really.”

Waiting for Christmas has involved more than 3,000 children from across the county with many taking part in the shows, singing songs they have recorded for a new CD.

It has proved to be a popular project with support from hundreds of people.

Police say they are aware of the theft at the Apex Theatre in Charter Square, Bury St Edmunds, between 10.30pm on December 11 and 5pm on December 12.

The laptop was a burgundy-coloured Samsung and officers are appealing for anyone who has information to get in touch.

Mr Rayner added: “If anyone is able to assist with the recorder of this laptop and its invaluable contents it would be appreciated.”

People with information should call PC David Hill on 101.
