A MOTHER spoke of her pride today after her daughter completed the Paris half marathon and raised hundreds of pounds for Addenbrooke’s Hospital in memory of her father.

Rosanna Morley-Norris, who now lives in Montpellier, raised £795 for the hospital’s neuro-critical care unit where her dad, Richard Morley, died after he fell from a ladder at their home in Felixstowe in 1996.

Rosanna, a former Waldringfield School pupil, was just four years old when Richard, a former customs and excise officer at the Port of Felixstowe, died.

Her mum, Lynette Morley-Norris and stepfather, Peter Norris, travelled to the French capital to support her as she took on the challenge along with about 51,000 other runners.

Mrs Morley-Norris said: “We were so proud of her and her achievement.

“The weather was gloriously sunny and there was a great atmosphere in Paris that day.”

Rosanna, 21, is studying French at the Queen Mary University in London and is currently teaching English to primary schoolchildren in Montpellier.

The family left Suffolk soon after Richard’s death and now live in Kent but they still have strong connections in the county and return every year.

Rosanna completed the 21km race in a time of two hours and 23 minutes.
