BOSSES at the firm charged with finding a buyer for Felixstowe’s Spa Pavilion today said they are confident an investor will come forward to save it.

Jones Lang LaSalle held an open day at the threatened venue during which interested parties were able to take a look around the building.

The firm has offered a ray of hope to campaigners fighting to save the Spa by describing the viewing as “positive” and saying they are hopeful someone will take it on.

A spokeswoman for the company said: “Jones Lang LaSalle is pleased to report that the Spa Pavilion marketing campaign continues to attract strong interest.

“Last week’s successful open house viewing generated positive feedback from a range of investors and we are hopeful for a good result.”

Performances are still continuing at the Spa until January 6 and the Dennis Lowe Theatre Company’s production of Aladdin is due to be the last performance.

Campaigners have spoken of their dismay about the Spa potentially closing and being boarded up. Sylvia Lowe, owner of the Dennis Lowe Theatre Company, said: “Seeing it boarded up will scare me because I don’t know if we will then get it open again.

“We just have pray that a solution is found.”

Owner Suffolk Coastal says it can no longer afford the annual £250,000 cost and has appointed specialist agents Jones Lang LaSalle to re-market the seafront property to try to attract a bidder – either to run it as a theatre or a new attraction.
