Gavin Nock, who admitted criminal damage, theft, and assault

WITHIN hours of being released from a prison sentence Gavin Nock was under arrest again for smashing a window in a pub toilet.

Today he is back behind bars for 12 weeks after admitting criminal damage, two assaults on a woman, and shoplifting a small metal Buddha, coasters and seven packets of razor blades.

South East Suffolk Magistrates’ Court heard Nock, of Beacon Field, Felixstowe, went to The Dolphin Pub in the town’s Beach Station Road and bought a pint of lager on July 31.

Nock, whose 30th birthday was yesterday, then went over to play on a fruit machine at around 4.45pm, before going to the gents’ toilet.

Prosecutor Lesla Small said a member of the public told the landlord a window in the toilets at the back of the pub had been smashed.

Nock then emerged from the lavatory and left. The landlord followed him to an address in Aster Close and called the police who subsequently arrested Nock.

Nock told officers he had consumed half a bottle of vodka following his release from prison that day.

The court was also told Nock had assaulted a woman on two occasions.

On April 30 two people were smoking outside a property when they heard the female screaming.

The witnesses then saw Nock repeatedly kicking the woman in the stomach as she cried out.

Ms Small said that although the witnesses told Nock, who was said to be extremely angry, to leave her alone he kicked her in the stomach at least three more times.

Then on May 6 he assaulted the same female after an argument broke out. After pushing her against a door, a struggle began. Nock then punched the woman in the right upper arm and kicked her in the leg, the court heard.

The two counts of shoplifting occurred on August 5 at The Wharf and Tesco in Felixstowe.

After stealing seven packets of Mach 3 razor blades he tried to sell some to a man outside, who reported it to police.

Subsequent enquiries discovered the theft of the Buddha and four glass coasters from The Wharf.
