SWIMMERS using a resort’s pools say the temperature should be increased – to a palm beach sweltering 32 degrees.
Felixstowe Leisure Centre’s pools have been criticised for being too cold, with parents claiming their children turn blue after just a few minutes in the water, and many families saying they now go to Crown Pools in Ipswich instead.
Centre bosses though say temperature tests show the water is always 27 to 30 degrees C.
In a poll on the Ipswich Star and Felixstowe Star websites, 69 per cent of readers said they wanted the temperature turned up – to 32C. Of the nearly 300 who voted, 22pc said 30C was fine and nine pc said 27C was ideal.
Bosses at the Suffolk Coastal council-owned complex, operated by DC Leisure, say they take the complaints “very seriously” and will continue to monitor the pools closely.

much prefer felixstowe than crown pools.Crown pools has alot more debris left over corn plasters tissues etc at the bottom of the pool which stays there for months!.Also whenever i come out of crown pools I have a reaction to chlorine or whatever making me sneeze where as this does not happen at felixstowe. As for kids turning blue this might be some thing to do with felixstowe being drafty in places .
