GRIEVING family and friends will gather this Friday to pay their last respects to a much-loved son, father and brother who died in a stabbing incident.
Darryl Bundy, 29, died despite desperate efforts to save his life after being stabbed in an alleged attack in Selvale Way in west Felixstowe.
His funeral is due to be held at 1pm at St Mary’s Church in Walton High Street, Felixstowe.
Afterwards, there will be a burial ceremony at Felixstowe Cemetery.
Mourners will later attend a celebration of Darryl’s life at the Ordnance Hotel in Undercliff Road West.
Mr Bundy had been living in the Wirral for the past four years with his partner of ten years, Kerry Roberts, 32. He grew up in Felixstowe and had returned home in December for a short while to visit family and because his grandmother was unwell.
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder – a 23-year-old from Ipswich and 54-year-old from Felixstowe, both released on bail until February 21 and 22.
In addition, a 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary in connection with the incident and has also been granted bail until February 7.
Police have been gathering forensic evidence from the bungalow in Selvale Way since the incident happened on December 16 but are now due to give the property back to owners Flagship Housing, who will decide on its future tenancy.
