The third Classic and Sports Cars by the Lake at Hall Farm in Fornham St Martin on Sunday has been hailed the best yet, raising more than £20,000 for St Nicholas Hospice Care.

At the event, which was hosted by Andrew and Gina Long who also helped with the organising, there were 360 classic and sports cars as well as motorcycles.

Former Rolling Stone Bill Wyman stayed for the duration of the event, presenting the award for the best modern classic.

Mr Long said: “It was just an extraordinarily wonderful day. We couldn’t have been blessed with better weather. It was definitely the best Classic and Sports Cars by the Lake by far.”

He said a day like that could not happen without the support, including from the event’s main sponsor, NFU Mutual, and other supporting sponsors and partners. He also thanked Mr Wyman for taking the time out of his incredibly busy diary, adding how he may enter his own car next year.

Austin Cornish, event chair, said: “I know that everybody who supports the show is very pleased knowing that all money raised is going to make a huge difference to a very important charity.”
