Hundreds of model railway enthusiasts attended an annual exhibition in Felixstowe over the weekend to marvel at more than a dozen detailed displays of miniature model lay-outs.

The Felixstowe Area ‘N’ Gauge Group’s exhibition at the Trinity Methodist Church in Hamilton Road on Saturday was attended by more than 250 enthusiasts, who offered their appreciation over the painstakingly created models, tracks, buildings and vegetation.

Chris Schum, the group’s founding member, said the event went “very well” with the visitors giving some “great feedback”.

The 14 models on display were all designed according to the 1:148 ratio ‘N’ gauge specification with many of the labours of love taking months, even years to perfect. The group formed in 1999 and has grown to include around 28 members, mainly older people, who have taken up the hobby in retirement.

Mr Schum, 68, thanked the visitors and exhibitors for their support.
