British and foreign cars covering a variety of decades were on display yesterday, from a 1930s Chevrolet to more modern vehicles from the 1980s.

Peter Jacobs, who helped organised the event, said thousands of members of the public stopped by to appreciate the fine selection of vehicles on display at Moot Hall at the Suffolk coastal resort.

“There were around 50 vehicles on display – a cross-section of British and foreign cars including American – and several thousand people came to have a look and see how cars have evolved over the years,” he said.

“I took down my 1964 Triumph 2000, and my highlight of the day was just watching other vintage car enthusiasts enjoying having their vehicles on display and talking to the public about them. That’s what it is all about really.”

He added: “There was not a drop of rain and there was even some Morris Dancing in the afternoon. The whole event went very well indeed.”
