Pupils at Orwell Park School in Ipswich celebrated the day by impersonating famous literary figures from The Wizard of Oz to Harry Potter.

The pupils discussed their favourite books in a special assembly, literary quizzes were held during the day, and Year 3 pupils visited pre-prep students to make up stories about their characters, bringing their heroes to life.

An Orwell Park School spokesman said: “It was a brilliant day. The children learnt a lot and had fun dressing up as their favourite characters and making up stories about them.”
