Great Barton: Couple killed in crash with lorry named as Lindsay and Georgina Wise from Stanton

A couple who died in a two vehicle collision on Wednesday, January 29 are being named by police.

Emergency services were called at around 10.45am to the A143 at Great Barton near Bury St Edmunds to a report of a collision involving a Renault Megane and a HGV lorry.

Two people within the car, Lindsay and Georgina Wise, aged 85 years and 87 years respectively from Michaelhouse Way, Stanton, were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Anyone who witnessed the collision and hasn’t yet contacted police is asked to contact PC Dean Webb at the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 101.

The sons of Lindsay and Georgina Wise have issued a tribute to their parents.

Jeff and Laurie Wise said: “Our family has yet to come to terms with the sudden loss of our parents, and our children’s grandparents, in a tragic road accident.

“Kind, generous and unassuming, they brought us into this world and looked after us all, unfaltering, for more than 60 years.

“We now have to let them go, thankfully together, and with tremendous gratitude for their love, guidance and devotion.”
