Copdock Motorcycle Club presents donation to Suffolk Oxygen Therapy Centre

An oxygen therapy centre in Suffolk, described as a “lifeline” by its users, has thanked the organisers of an annual motorcycle show for a £500 donation.

The Copdock Classic Motorcycle Club, which organises East Anglia’s largest bike show at Trinity Park each October, presented the Suffolk Oxygen Therapy Centre in Great Blakenham with the cash.

Peter Sims, the charity’s chairman, said he was “exceedingly pleased” to receive the donation, which will help toward’s the centre’s £25,000 annual running costs.

“All of our money comes from either gifts or fundraising so it’s absolutely wonderful news,” he said.

Mr Sims, who relies on oxygen therapy to alleviate the symptoms of multiple sclerosis, says the centre is a “lifeline” to those who use it.

The motorcycle club has presented nearly £500,000 to local charities
and good causes over the past 23 years and around £50,000 this year alone.

Committee member Alex Malcolm, who visited the centre with the club’s chairman Dave Baldry, has praised the charity for its work and thanked them for the “fantastic” response.

The centre, in Claydon Business Park, has seen a rapid increase in interest following a feature in this newspaper in March.

You could be forgiven for thinking that PewDiePie, Zoella, CutiePieMarzia and ThatcherJoe are characters from a new Cbeebies programme, but they are not. These are the rock stars and movie heroes of the current teenage generation.
