Great Saxham: Man assaulted in his garden by attacker carrying knife

An assailant climbed over a garden wall armed with a knife and a blunt wooded object to attack a man.

The man, who is in his fifties, was in his garden in Great Saxham, near Bury St Edmunds, when the assault took place.

The attacker cut the man including on his eyebrow before he fled the scene between 8.40am and 8.50am on Thursday.

Police say the man was also bruised during the assault.

The suspect is a white male, in his thirties, around 5’10”, of stocky build and with medium-length brown hair.

He was wearing a donkey-style jacket and black leather motorcycle gloves.

Anyone with information or may have seen the man should call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
