An inquest on the death of Rosa Simon opened yesterday has been adjourned until October 9.

Three-year-old Rosa died after being involved in a collision outside her home in Canterbury Gardens, Hadleigh last month.

Assistant coroner for Suffolk Nigel Parsley opened and adjourned the inquest for evidence to be collected.

He said Rosa had been playing on her scooter moments before the collision, which involved a vehicle driven by someone who had been working at the house.

Mr Parsley added that an investigation into the incident is still ongoing.

After the tragedy Rosa’s father Paul said family and friends had been left “terribly bewildered and deeply saddened” by her death.

“Rosa had pizzazz, a certain confidence, inquisitiveness, determination and a great sense of humour,” he said.

She had attended Hadleigh Community Playgroup and was shortly due to join her six-year-old brother and 10-year-old sister at St Mary’s Church of England Primary School.

Headteacher Andrew Frolish paid tribute to Rosa along with county and district councillor Brian Riley.
