A Hollesley Bay absconder who went missing more than two months ago has been recaptured in Essex.

Gary Edwards, 31, who was serving a sentence for aggravated burglary, was found to be missing around lunchtime on Friday, February 14.

Suffolk Constabulary said officers carried out “extensive visits, inquiries and checks” to locate him.

Edwards contacted Essex Police this morning saying he wanted to hand himself in and he was arrested shortly after.
