SUFFOLK police are appealing for help in tracing a Hollesley Bay prisoner who absconded yesterday.
Lee Chapman, 34, who was serving a life sentence for robbery and arson, was last seen at the prison at 6am this morning and was found to be missing around 8.20am.
Chapman has connections to the Peterborough area and is described as white, around 5ft 11ins tall, of slim to medium build with brown hair and blue eyes. It is not known what clothing he was wearing at the time he went missing.
If anyone sees Chapman they should phone the police with the details. They should not approach him or take any further action.

I'm sure I won't be the first to notice this... What on earth is a prisoner who is serving a live sentence doing in an open prison??? Sorry, but have I read this wrong? Life time sentence in an open prison which we know people wonder in and out of on a regular basis and the advice given is "do not approach him", really, is this what the state of our prison system is coming to when we can't even lock our 'lifers' away properly at night. As for not knowing what he was wearing... Surely a grey boiler suit with black arrows would identify him fairly quickly - come on government, get the prison system back to where it should be, make prisons places people don't want to be and make sure they can't get out! Lets hope they find him before lights out tonight otherwise they won't know what to do with the spare hot coco, biscuits and bedtime story #pamperedprisoners
