FIRE crews were called to a building fire at Bolton Aerospace in New Way, Ipswich this morning.

At 9.47am, two crews from Princes Street Fire Station were mobilised to Bolton Aerospace and upon arrival crews requested assistance from a further two crews. Additional resources were mobilised from Princes Street and Ipswich East Fire Stations along with a command unit and support appliance from Woodbridge.

The fire was located in a heater for a hydraulic press in the single storey building which measured 200x30 metres.

Crews isolated the power and got to work using two sets of breathing apparatus and a hose reel.

The incident was under control by 10.43am, after the fire was extinguished and the surrounding area was checked by crews using a thermal imaging camera.

All crews had returned to their stations by 11.08am.
