A motorist failed to stop after hitting a cyclist in Ipswich, the second incident on the same day.

The driver of a blue car did not give way to a male cyclist, 57, when the rider turned into Derby Road from Felixstowe Road, Ipswich,

The victim was left with cuts and bruising following the incident at around 2pm on Sunday.

He reported the incident yesterday after hearing about a similar crime earlier on Sunday.

A boy, 13, suffered neck and head injuries after colliding with a blue car, described as having a Smurf toy or character inside the front windscreen, at around 2.15pm in Newbury Road.

Again the driver did not stop and police believe the incidents may be linked.

Anyone with information should call PC John Clarke at Martlesham Roads Policing Unit on 101, with reference IE/14/1433.
