PUMPKIN carving takes a lot longer in the Hawkes household.

Because little Izzy, four, had this giant offering to hollow out.

The 218lbs pumpkin was grown by dad Colin on his allotment in Colchester Road - and it is nearly as big as Izzy, who has just started at Broke Hall School.

Mum Deborah, of Camberely Road, Ipswich, said: “My husband grows really big pumpkins, two years ago he grew one that was 640lbs but this was a bad year and this one is a lot smaller.”

She added: “Izzy and Colin carved it last night, she has been really excited about Halloween so I made her a witch costume to wear and tonight she is going trick or treating for the first time ever.”
