A man who had arranged to meet a woman via an adult website ended up being robbed of money when he arrived at the meeting place.

Police are appealing for information and issuing a warning after the man was robbed of cash when he arranged to meet the woman.

On Friday, March 28 he used the website to arrange to visit the woman in Curriers Lane, Ipswich. When he arrived at around 8.10pm the victim was approached by a man who demanded he hand over money. The victim did so and the man left the area.

The man is described as black, around 5ft 7ins, of strong build, aged around 30 years old with short receding hair and traces of a foreign accent. He was wearing a black puffa-style jacket.

This is being linked to a similar incident on Friday, March 28 where cash was also taken from a man who had arranged to meet a woman using an adult website.

At around 11.30pm, while waiting in Portman Road, the victim was approached by another man who took his money before the victim received a call from the woman he was supposed to be meeting telling him to leave.

The man is described as Asian, around 5ft 7ins, well built with a bald head and in his mid to late twenties.

Police are warning people to be careful and are asking anyone with information in relation to these incidents to call Ipswich CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
